Rejoice in God in the Strength of Your Youth

Benicio J.

The Word directs us with a tender invitation: "Young person, rejoice in your youth!" This means that God is not an enemy of your joy, your spontaneous laughter, your dreams, and the energy so characteristic of this phase of life. On the contrary, He Himself is the greatest interested party in ensuring that all of this is lived in fullness, without masks and without guilt.

The Lord knows the heart of the young person deeply; He knows how it is filled with plans, curiosity, and a desire to discover the new. He sees the desires that arise in you, the questions that emerge, the searches that seem endless. None of this is strange to God; He knows very well how intense this time of discovery is.

Therefore, the Lord does not command you to suppress your desires nor does He tell you to stifle what springs up in your soul. What He asks is that everything be brought into His presence, placed before Him with sincerity and trust. It is not about denying what you feel, but about allowing God to illuminate, guide, and purify each desire, each dream, and each plan.

Christ did not come into the world to stifle your joy, nor to turn youth into a heavy burden or an inevitable danger. He came to give your joy an eternal and secure meaning, so that your youth may be a true gift, a time of grace, growth, and maturation in God. In Jesus, youth is not a wasted time, but an opportunity to live the best of yourself in the presence of the Lord.
