To Your Glorious Image: Called to live as a reflection of the Creator

God speaks to us in creation with a solemn declaration: we were made in His image and likeness, destined to exercise responsible dominion over creation. This mandate is not an invitation to pride, but a call to live as representatives of divine goodness in every sphere of life: home, work, community, and the earth entrusted to us by God. When we look to the Supreme Being, our identity is anchored in His love and purpose, and that transforms us from the inside out, so that our actions reflect His holiness and care for every creature.

This passage reminds us that the authority given by God must be exercised with humility and justice. It is not about exploiting for personal gain, but about governing with responsibility, knowing that all human work is under the gaze of the Creator. In daily life, that means acting with integrity in our relationships, handling resources with temperance, and leading with compassion, as disciples who serve the King of kings. The image of God in us is a call to live in obedience to His word, allowing His truth to guide every decision and every attitude.

The grace of this passage is that we do not depend on our natural capacity, but on Christ’s restorative work in us. In Him we are renewed to fulfill divine purpose: to be witnesses of His kingdom, reflect His love, and work for the glory of God in the world. May each action, from raising children to managing professional responsibilities, be an offering of gratitude for having been made in His image. Let us be encouraged to move forward in faith, knowing that the Lord will sustain our effort and empower us to live according to His likeness.
