Transformed Interior by the Spirit: The Experience of the New Birth in Light of Matthew 9:14-17

We need to care for our interior as we care for our exterior, for true holiness does not begin with appearance but with the heart regenerated by the Spirit. Jesus teaches that the new cannot be contained in the old; new wine requires new wineskins. In the same way, the interior that has not been renewed by grace cannot bear the fullness of what God offers in Christ. When the Holy Spirit is poured out where there has been new birth, life is transformed from the inside out, producing desires aligned with God's will and deeds that reveal the regenerated heart.

We will have to present ourselves before the Lord with honesty, recognizing the areas of our lives that still insist on maintaining old patterns. Anyone born again does not go back to the emptiness of the past; the new wine of the kingdom requires new wineskins: a renewed mind, renewed attitudes, renewed desires. It is in intimate relationship with Christ, in fellowship with the Word, and in continual prayer that the Spirit acts to shape the interior, bringing forth fruits of repentance, faith, and obedience for our days.

Jesus never abandons us in the process of transformation. He who has the Holy Spirit will not leave without Jesus; He lives in us, guiding us into an ever-deeper fellowship with the Lord. The call is to live with expectation of God's continual care, recognizing that the Christian life is not merely external practice but a vibrant relationship with the Father. May we believe that, as we present ourselves before the Lord, He renews our courage, strengthens our faith, and encourages us to persevere in sanctification, because Jesus never abandons us.
