Precious in the Eyes of God

"It costs the Lord much to see His faithful die." This small phrase from Psalm 116:15 reveals how much God values each life that belongs to Him. In the eyes of the world, death seems only an end, a loss, and silence; but in the eyes of the Lord, it is something treated with deep seriousness, care, and honor. The psalmist shows us a God who is not indifferent to the pain, mourning, and farewells we face. He sees every tear, knows every longing, and closely accompanies every difficult moment. We are not numbers or statistics before Him; we are beloved children, precious to His eternal heart.

When a child of God departs from this world, it is not a cold or distant event for the Lord. The expression "it costs much" indicates that God feels, cares, gets involved, and does not watch from afar. In Christ, death has ceased to be a dark and hopeless abyss because He Himself crossed that valley before us. On the cross, Jesus experienced death so that, when we pass through it, we would no longer be alone or without hope. Death, which seemed to have the last word, is now a door to the full presence of God, prepared for those who trust in His Son.

This truth brings comfort not only in the face of our own finitude but also in the longing for those who have already gone in Christ. If you are mourning someone who loved the Lord, know that your grief is seen and embraced by God. He does not press a "power off" button on anyone's story; He receives, honors, and embraces His faithful in eternity. At the same time, He remains by the side of those who are left behind, sustaining the heart, strengthening faith, and giving grace for each day. Your pain is not ignored; it is carried along with you by the God who has compassion and consoles.

Therefore, let this promise renew your hope and courage to live today. In Christ, each day has meaning, each tear has value, and no moment of pain is wasted before God. You do not walk alone through the valley of the shadow of death, nor through the memories that still hurt; the Lord is by your side, holding your hand. Trust that He cares for those who have already departed in Him, and also cares for you, step by step. Walk in faith, knowing that your life is too precious to be forgotten, and that the God who values even the death of His faithful certainly values, accompanies, and fills with purpose every minute of your story today.
