"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." With these words Scripture places us before the God who is the origin and foundation of all things. Before space, time or meaning existed, God came first; his work is not an isolated act but the sovereign foundation upon which we can entrust our life, our projects and our beginnings.
Just as a notebook collects our notes and a label organizes what we want to remember, creation reveals that God is the One who brings order where there is chaos. Remembering Genesis 1:1 helps us place each day under his gaze: naming priorities, keeping what is essential and leaving in his hands what is still being formed. Our spiritual "notes" — memories, decisions, dreams — find meaning when we present them to the Creator.
God's creative work finds its fullness in Christ, who upholds and renews all things. By inviting Jesus into our beginnings we not only ask for tactical guidance, but the presence of the Lord who gives purpose and direction. Walking with Him transforms the way we plan, work and relate our goals to his eternal will.
Today you can begin by naming what you need to put in order and entrusting it to the God who created the heavens and the earth; like someone placing a label to remember, keep his sovereignty in mind at every step. May this truth give you peace to begin, faithfulness to persevere, and joy to see his work: He does not abandon the beginnings you entrust to his hands. Move forward with hope.
