From the Lord belongs the earth and all that is in it, the world and its inhabitants. Contemplation of this truth leads us to the core of human history: my place before God is not by the strength of my hands, but by the faithfulness of the Creator. Adam and Eve, by choosing disobedience, opened space for the dominance of sin over the earth; creation suffered under the weight of a rebellion whose consequences still resonate in our lives today. However, the biblical narrative does not end in defeat: the cross of Christ reveals the path of reconciliation, in which Jesus, by his obedience and sacrifice, rebuilds what was lost, restoring us to a filial relationship with the Father. When we recognize that the earth and all that is in it belong to the Lord, we are invited to live dependent on Him, awaiting the full realization of His kingdom with humility, faith, and obedience.
The cross did not merely suspend the sentence of sin, but opened a new logic — the rehabilitation of creation by God's grace in Christ. In Christ, the authority given to the enemy is undone by the victory of the cross; the earth remains under the sovereignty of God, and we are called to inhabit it as faithful stewards, living in holiness, fidelity, and compassion. Our experience of returning to the Father is marked by faith that looks beyond present suffering, recognizing that the final destination of history is the transformation of all things by the presence of Christ. Thus, every act of prayer, every decision made in light of the Word, is an act of re-framing the earth under God’s lordship, participating in the renewal that Christ has already begun.
Therefore, let us walk with confidence, knowing that the Lord sustains the earth and that our calling is to live in fidelity to the revelation of the cross. Even in the midst of struggles, as Adam and Eve faced temptation, we are invited to remain steadfast in faith, seeking heavenly wisdom and the dependence of the Spirit, until the fullness of the kingdom of God is manifested. May our hope not be merely for return, but for transformation — that, as we look to the cross, we may be strengthened to love God and neighbor, to forgive, to serve, and to persevere. Let us remain firm in grace, walking in the truth of the Word, so that, as we contemplate the earth, we may bear witness to Christ's faithfulness who rebuilt the path back to the Father.
