I want to begin by looking at what Revelation 21:22 reveals to us: there is no physical temple in this city; the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its sanctuary. What this teaches us is profound for the practical life of faith. Our relationship with God does not depend on external rituals or human structures, but on the living presence of the Eternal who invites us to dwell in Him. When we recognize that the sanctuary is the Lord Himself and the Lamb, we are invited to a spirituality that transcends places, times, and traditions, an intimacy that can be cultivated in every moment of the day, in every decision, in every service we render to others.
This passage challenges us to reassess our idea of temple. Instead of seeking grand spaces, we are called to seek the dwelling of the Father within our hearts, by faith in Jesus. The daily practice of this is expressed in prayer, in reading the Scriptures, in simple obedience to the Lord’s commandments, and in the love that pours out compassion for the afflicted. When we are the sanctuary, then every act of humility, every word of encouragement, every gesture of service becomes worship to the Lord who welcomes us. May our life be a continuation of the praise that is already in the heart of the Lamb, revealing to the world that God’s presence is enough to sustain every step.
Therefore, let us walk with confidence: we do not depend on visible temples to find God, but on the faithfulness of the one who chooses to live in the presence of the Lord. In times of doubt or trial, let us remember that the sanctuary is in Christ, who joined us to the Father through His death and resurrection. May our faith be practical and forceful, translated into daily obedience, into active love for people, and into a life that testifies that the true temple already dwells in us by the presence of the Spirit. And, as a final motivation, this call is for each one of us to remain steadfast, pursuing fellowship with God in every moment, trusting that His presence transforms our lives and empowers us to live with courage and hope on the path He has laid out.
