In Genesis 1:26, God speaks with both purpose and tenderness: “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” Before you ever lifted a finger or accomplished a single thing, God had already marked you with dignity, value, and a calling that flows from His own heart.
To be made in His image means you were created to mirror His character—His wisdom, His love, His justice, and His care for all that He has made. Your identity is rooted not in what you do, but in whose image you bear.
This image-bearing comes with responsibility. Dominion was never intended as permission to exploit or abuse creation. Instead, it was given as a sacred mandate to steward, protect, and cultivate what God entrusted to humanity.
From the very beginning, our design was to walk closely with God and to exercise authority under His rule. We were meant to live as His representatives on the earth, reflecting His heart and purposes in the way we relate to Him, to others, and to the world around us.
