In the beginning of everything, when the world was still being formed, the Word already existed; it was not created, but existed with God and, in a radical way, was God. This truth calls us to a deep reverence before the revelation of Christ, the Word who gives meaning to all things. We do not need to add human adornments to understand His greatness: eternity is revealed in the incarnation and in the work of salvation that He carries out from eternity to eternity. May our faith remain centered on the One who is not a mere messenger, but the very life that sustains the cosmos and has brought light to our darkness.
When we contemplate this Word who was with God and was God, we are invited to an intimate and faithful relationship with Christ. It is not an abstract concept, but a person who walks among us, who knows our limitations and, nevertheless, offers strength. In the Incarnate Word we see the tenderness of God and the justice that transforms, reminding us that salvation is not an idea, but a person who calls us to obey, to trust, and to live in holiness. May our daily decisions align with the truth of Christ, whose character reveals God’s path for a full life.
Thus, the promise of eternity translates into a practical life: love as Christ loved, serve with humility, and persevere in faith even when the world contradicts the truth. Our pastoral duty is to guide others to discover that the Word is not distant, but present, active, and powerful to transform hearts. May this knowledge awaken in us an active hope, a baptism of obedience, and a practice of faith that manifests in every daily action, strengthening the race of faith with perseverance and a joy that does not fade.
