The Grace That Meets Us in the Midst of the Flood

In Genesis 6:8 we read that, while the whole world was heading towards judgment, "the Lord showed Noah his grace and mercy." Noah was not perfect, but he was reached by a grace that set him apart amid the corruption of his generation.

In the same way, our own story of faith does not begin with our obedience, but with the gracious gaze of God that meets us exactly where we are. He reaches us not because we are worthy, but because He is rich in mercy.

The ark that saved Noah did not arise from a good human idea, nor from a religious project, but from a divine instruction driven by love. Before any effort from Noah's hands, there was a word from God and a plan from God in action.

In all of this, we see a grace poured out on Noah that already points us to a greater reality, fully fulfilled in Jesus Christ. In Him, we find the true fulfillment of that loving care and gracious rescue that began back in Noah's days.
