Jesus knew what they had in mind. He not only perceives the words that come from our lips, but the secret running of our thoughts and the state of our heart. In the passage of Matthew 12:15, this knowledge does not paralyze him; on the contrary, it drives him to act with compassion: he left that area and healed all who were sick who followed him. Here we see a Christ who knows the intimacy of our mind and, yet, gives himself to the ministry of healing, showing that his dominion over the inner and the outer is perfect and loving.
This truth should strengthen us in our daily life. If Jesus knows the intimate details of our thoughts, we can approach Him with confidence, not to hide, but to repent and ask for the grace that transforms. Holiness is not hiding what we think from the gaze of God, but bringing it to the light of his truth so that his Word renews it. Our pastoral calling is to live before Him with honesty and dependence, knowing that his knowledge does not condemn, but redeems.
May this knowledge of Christ produce in us a practical faith response: seek the will of God in every decision, allow his wisdom to guide our thoughts, and respond with compassion to those around us. If Jesus knows the depth of our interior, then may his love move our actions toward mercy, understanding, and the courage to live according to the kingdom of God. Let us keep our eyes on Him and move forward with confidence and zeal, knowing that his presence accompanies us in every thought and in every people who surround us.
