Thanks for the resurrection: today in the heavenly places

Ephesians 1:20 reminds us of the astonishing power of God who raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at the right hand in the heavenly places. That act is not just a historical event: it is the manifestation of God's sovereign power over life, death, and the final defeat of sin. Contemplating that reality leads us to worship, recognizing that the resurrection confirmed Christ's redemptive work and His definitive victory.

The note of gratitude — "thanks to Christ for His resurrection because today you are in the heavenly places" — captures a profound truth: in Jesus' resurrection our identity in Him is opened. If Christ was seated in the heights by the power of God, in Him we are considered made alive and reconciled; our spiritual position is no longer condemned, but clothed by the work He accomplished. This is a truth for mind and heart: it is not about human merit, but grace received in union with the risen Christ.

Practically speaking, living as those who are "in the heavenly places" changes our priorities and reactions. Facing trials, we remember the authority of the One who conquered; facing temptation, we act from the new identity He gave us; in prayer, we draw near with confidence knowing that Christ is seated at the right hand interceding. It is not an invitation to escape from the world, but to act with power and hope, allowing that heavenly reality to shape our daily decisions and our way of loving and serving.

Today, thank Christ for His resurrection and allow that gratitude to transform your life: live with the assurance of one situated in God's grace and rule, face difficulties with hope, and share that peace with others. Take heart: the same power that raised Jesus is at work in you to uphold you, strengthen you, and carry you forward in His purpose. Keep going trusting in Him.
