Ya sabían: la responsabilidad de vivir conforme al decreto de Dios

In Romans 1:32, we see a painful reality: those who know the decree of God, which reveals that those who practice these things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also approve of those who practice them. They already knew; they already had clarity about the justice of God and, yet, they chose to consent. This knowledge was not a mere fact, but a responsibility that cries out to conscience and to life. It confronts us with the truth that divine illumination is not neutral, but a call to be transformed.

They already knew and, nevertheless, allowed themselves to be carried away by a validation of evil that contradicts God’s holiness. This passage invites us to distinguish between knowing the truth and living it. He who knows God’s will is obligated not only to understand it, but to respond with obedience, to build a life that reflects the righteousness of Christ. Our speech and actions must align with the divine command, so that what we love is seen in what we do.

It challenges us not to be content with a theoretical faith but with a faith that is manifested in daily practice: in how we treat others, in our decisions, in our integrity, in the humility that avoids approving harm and seeks reconciliation. If we already knew, then God’s grace calls us to correct, repent, and live in holiness, so that our life may be a testimony to the mercy of Christ who called us from darkness to his light.

May today, in light of what we already knew, our steps turn to Christ; may God’s wisdom guide every word and action; and may, amid weaknesses and temptations, our longing be to obey, to love, and to persevere in grace. Christ is our hope and our strength to live according to the divine decree, with courage and boldness to walk in faithfulness.
