Juan closes his gospel with a breathless phrase: there are so many things that Jesus did, that the world would not have enough room to contain the books that would recount them. This reminds us that what we know of Jesus is true, but it is not everything; we have only seen a small window into His greatness. Each miracle narrated, each word recorded, is just a sample of an infinite ocean of love and power. If what is written already transforms lives, imagine how much more is in the heart of Christ that has not been written down, but continues to manifest today. This verse invites us to see Jesus not as a character limited to a few pages, but as the living Lord who continues to work beyond what we can narrate or imagine.
This reality changes the way we see our day-to-day: we do not live with a Christ of the past, but with a Christ who continues to do "many other things." There are answered prayers that may never be written in a book, but are recorded in God's memory. There are small daily miracles, comforts in the night, renewed strength at dawn, that do not make headlines, but are real works of Jesus in your story. Sometimes we think that God only works in the spectacular, but this verse gives us a glimpse of a constant, silent, and loving activity of Christ. He is working in the hidden, in what no one sees, in every detail where you may only see routine or fatigue.
It also teaches us humility in the face of our questions and limits. There will be things we do not understand, stories we do not know how they end, processes that seem unfinished; but that does not mean the absence of Jesus, but that there are chapters that have yet to be revealed. If the world could not contain all that He did, neither can our minds grasp all that He is doing today. Discipleship, then, is not having all the answers, but walking confidently behind the One who does more than we see. In the face of doubt or frustration, this text encourages us to remember: there is more of Christ at work than you can notice right now.
Therefore, you can move forward with hope, even when your story is not yet "written" as you would like. Your life in Christ is an open book where He continues to add pages of grace, mercy, and purpose. Perhaps the world will never read your complete testimony, but the Lamb who loved you knows it in detail and continues to write faithfully. Trust that today Jesus is doing "many other things" in your favor: healing, guiding, sustaining, opening paths that you will soon see. Walk this day with courage: even if you cannot yet read all the chapters, the Author of your story has not stopped writing, and in His hands, the ending is always good for those who love Him.
