Many doubt when the moment is difficult, tying the presence of God to changes only when everything seems perfect. Yet Scripture assures us that faith is not mere temporary trust in favorable circumstances, but the certainty of receiving what we hope for and the conviction of what is unseen. In Hebrews 11, we learn that faith is the sure foundation of God’s promises and that the ancients received a good testimony through faith, even though they did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us so that they would not, apart from us, be made perfect. It is in this space between the seen and the unseen that faith operates, recognizing that the Universe was created by the Word of God and that what we see is the fruit of the invisible that sustains all things.
When we face good and bad moments, faith invites us to keep our focus on what remains, not on what passes. Our confidence does not depend on the mood of the circumstance, but on the faithfulness of God. As we fix our eyes on the Author and perfecter of faith, we can declare that this is only a temporary moment, which can bring growth, transition, and glory to God. Even in pain, we can give God the glory He deserves, recognizing that the current test is not the last chapter, for the unseen continues to be active in our history.
May the practice of faith translate into acts of gratitude, prayer, and obedience, even when we do not fully understand what is to come. Guided by the Word, we remain firm, trusting that God works all things for the good of those who love Him. This is the time to choose to believe: that tomorrow may bring the promised goodness, not because our human categories guarantee it, but because faith in Christ Jesus has already secured the victory. And may this confidence lead us to a life that honors God today, with ongoing hope and courage to move forward, for the faith that sees the unseen is the same faith that sustains us on the way to salvation and the glory that awaits us.
