Lord, what am I doing that I need to leave behind, what am I doing well that I should keep, and what do you want to teach me through what I am living? In Ecclesiastes 6:3 we are reminded sharply that life may seem long and full of external achievements, but without authentic spiritual satisfaction, even abundance of years and of children does not fill the soul. When our heart is not satisfied with the good that comes from you, everything else loses its weight and purpose. We reflect today on the responsibility to align our life to your will, so that the blessing of what is good does not become a shadow that makes us lose the guidance of your Spirit.
Amid the question you ask us, Lord, about what we should leave, preserve, and learn, we find an invitation to practical obedience: leave behind what takes us away from you, preserve what fosters the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, and learn to endure trials as a path to draw us closer to you. It is not about a simple list of rules, but a relationship that transforms desire, motivation, and daily decisions. When we choose to live for you with a contrite and ready heart, even the apparent disorder of circumstances can become teachers that reveal your faithfulness.
May this sense of dissatisfaction lead us to seek you with humility, to trust in your wisdom, and to submit our will to yours. May what we learn in the midst of this finite life guide us toward the fullness that is only found in Christ, the true source of life and purpose. I encourage not to despair at apparent emptiness; in you there is an abundance that surpasses understanding. Continue guiding our steps, Lord, and strengthen every decision to walk in accordance with your kingdom of God, with confidence and hope, knowing that you work in all things for our good and for your glory.
