In the Beginning: The Creator Who Brings Order

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Those first seven words of Scripture do more than set a stage for the cosmos; they declare the priority and power of God. Before anything else existed, God was already there—sovereign, purposeful, and able to bring being and order out of nothing. To start here is to be reminded that every beginning points back to a Person who authors reality itself.

For Christians this opening also directs us to the Christ who is both Creator and Redeemer. The One who spoke light into darkness is the same Lord whose Word sustains every atom and story; in Him all things hold together. That means our lives, messy and cluttered as they often are, are not omitted from God’s ordering hand. The Creator who composes galaxies is intimately able to order the small, ordinary details of our days.

Your note about the Notebook and #hashtags is an apt image: we use folders, tags, and a left-hand menu to bring clarity to many fragments of life. In the same way, Genesis 1:1 invites us to let God be the first organizer of our hearts. Practically, this looks like beginning our plans, relationships, and tasks with prayer; naming what matters to God; and trusting Him to sort priorities when our lists overlap. When we hand our scattered hopes and schedules to the Creator, He rearranges them according to eternal purpose and loving wisdom.

So bring your beginnings to the God who made beginnings. Open the notebook of your life to Christ, ask Him to give order and purpose, and trust that He who created the heavens and the earth is at work in your small, daily pages—be encouraged, He is with you and ordering your way.
