The Word that Reveals and the Spirit that Fills

When the Word is preached and revelation comes from the Holy Spirit, all are filled, and receive the gift of the Spirit.

The narrative of Acts 10 reveals to us that there are no boundaries to God's grace: while Peter was still speaking, the Spirit came on all who heard. There was no cultural, ritual, or ethnic exclusion that could hinder God's work. The truth proclaimed by the Church proved to be alive, not only informing the mind but filling the heart and empowering life for the experience of the gift that God grants. The gift of the Spirit is not mere experience; it is a confirmation that the message of Christ crosses human barriers and communicates through divine revelation.

When the Word is proclaimed with fidelity, the revelation of the Holy Spirit is not limited to those who already belong to a group. It reaches the heart of those who hear, producing conviction, reverence, and worship. The Gentiles, who had been considered distant, receive the same Spirit that the disciples received. This teaches us that the fullness of God is not restricted to a familiar or cultural sphere, but pours out on all who respond by faith, recognizing that salvation in Christ is universal and inclusive before God.

I conclude with a word of pastoral encouragement: let us maintain steadfastness in the faithful proclamation of the Word, knowing that the Spirit is the one who pours out life, transforms hearts, and confirms the identity of God's people. May more and more people, without barriers, receive the gift of the Spirit, for it is by faith in Christ and by the action of the Spirit that we walk in the fullness of grace, trusting that divine renewal continues today, tomorrow, and always.
