The Bible shows us that, before everything took shape, the earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the abyss. There were no colors, no landscapes, no life as we know it today, only chaos and darkness. However, in the midst of that seemingly desolate scene, the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. In other words, God was already present, active, and attentive, even when nothing seemed to make sense. Likewise, many times our lives seem chaotic, but that does not mean that God is absent or that He cannot create something beautiful from what we experience. Life is beautiful not because everything is perfect, but because God is there, even before we can see the final shape of His work in us.
The Spirit of God moving over the waters reminds us that nothing is so empty that God cannot fill it. Sometimes we look inside ourselves and see confusion, wounds, doubts, and fears, and we think that nothing good can come from there. But the same God who spoke and created light where there was only darkness can speak to your heart and bring order, purpose, and peace. In Christ, God not only created the world but also initiated a new creation in those who believe in Him. When Jesus enters our lives, a process of transformation begins that can turn disorder into testimony, and pain into a new sensitivity towards others. Thus, little by little, we begin to discover that life is beautiful because it becomes a canvas where God paints His grace.
It is interesting that God did not first eliminate the water or the abyss, but moved over them and then began to speak. In the same way, He does not always immediately remove all our problems, but moves in the midst of them, guiding, holding, and giving hope. Faith does not deny the existence of darkness, but affirms that the light of Christ is stronger. When you look at the cross, you see that Jesus entered the darkest night to give us a new dawn. His resurrection is the guarantee that emptiness is not the final word, nor is pain, nor sin. That is why, even on difficult days, we can learn to say: “Lord, my life is beautiful because You are moving over my waters.”
Today you can look at your story with new eyes, knowing that the Spirit of God is also moving over your life. Perhaps you do not yet see the complete landscape, but the Artist is already working on the details. Give Christ what seems formless: your fears, your projects, your relationships, and ask Him to speak His word of life over all of it. He can transform routine into opportunity, trial into growth, and waiting into space to know Him more. Do not give up or just keep looking at the darkness; lift your gaze to the God who creates beauty where others only see disorder. Walk confidently today: with Jesus, your life is beautiful, and the best is yet to come.
