When we read that "the Heaven and the Earth were completed, along with all their army," it is common to wonder if God formed an army in the sense of armed soldiers. However, in biblical language, "army" often describes an "organized multitude," a set of beings and elements submissive to the same authority.
This refers to the idea of the "armies of heaven": stars, angels, and everything that is exactly in the place God established. Every detail of creation has been carefully positioned, so that nothing exists by chance or outside the order laid out by the Lord.
Thus, Genesis 2:1 presents a fully completed Universe, full and harmoniously organized, like a great choir already gathered, tuned, and in reverent silence, just waiting for the exact moment when the conductor will raise the baton.
We are not facing a militarized world, but a creation in perfect readiness to fulfill God's purpose. All of created reality is waiting for the beginning of the song of human history, ready to respond to the command of the Creator.
