The words that God directed to Joshua echo today in our hearts: "Be strong and courageous." Joshua was about to enter a new phase of his life, facing challenges he did not yet know, but God already saw every detail of the path ahead of him. Nothing was a surprise to the Lord; even before Joshua took the first step, the Lord already knew everything he would face.
The command to be strong and courageous did not arise from empty enthusiasm or a mere human impulse, but from the unwavering certainty of God's presence. He does not ask Joshua to cheer himself up, nor to trust in his own ability, but to stand firm in the truth that the Lord would be by his side. Strength and courage are the fruits of this trust.
The Lord does not minimize the challenges nor pretends they do not exist; He does not ignore the weight of battles or the reality of obstacles. However, He reveals a greater truth than any difficulty: He would be with Joshua in every step, in every territory to conquer, in every decision to make. The presence of God thus becomes the secure foundation to move forward.
In the same way, God does not disregard the fears you feel, nor does He condemn the uncertainties that try to surround your heart. Instead, He places before you a firm promise, capable of sustaining your life amid insecurity. The courage to which the Bible calls us is not a solitary effort of the soul, but a confident response to the faithful presence of God, who walks with you in every moment.
