In the beginning: the God who began everything

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. In this inaugural statement of Genesis we see the foundation of all reality: we are not the product of chance, but the work of a pre-existing God, lord of time and space. In Christ, the Word who was with God in the beginning and by whom all things were made, we have the face of the Creator who inaugurates history.

Creation ex nihilo reveals that God's Word produces being and order; from the creative decree purpose is born. This means that the cosmos is neither neutral nor empty of meaning: each heaven and each earth exist under a divine reason. For us who believe in Christ the Lord, this origin gives security to our faith and coherence to our decisions.

Pastorally, this faith in the Creator God transforms our daily practices: it invites us to trust in the face of chaos, to cultivate hope when the future seems uncertain, and to live responsibly before the world that has been entrusted to us. It is not just a matter of intellectual contemplation, but of a trust that translates into persevering prayer, humble obedience, and concrete care for people and for creation.

If today you ask "Genesis, what did we see?", we answer: we saw the God who began everything and who, in Christ, sustains and guides history; therefore, entrust your fears to him, align your choices with his will, and go forward with confidence. May this truth give you courage to live and hope to walk each day.
