The Divine Permission: Trust in God in the Face of Trials

When I read John 6:65, I am confronted by the reminder that nothing comes to us without God's sovereign permission. Jesus asserts that no one can come to him unless the Father allows it; it is a statement that disarms our anxiety and calls us to read life under God's control. At every challenge, at every weight that presents itself, one must recognize that God, in his wisdom, allows what he knows we can endure, not to destroy us but to shape our faith and reveal the dependence we have on him.

This perspective is not fatalism, but a confession of trust. When we feel the weight of difficulties, we can remember that the Son himself was delivered to suffering within the Father's plan to fulfill salvation. Therefore, the adversities that come are not accidental, but divine permission to strengthen us, purify the heart, and bring us closer to Christ. Christian faith does not deny suffering; it transforms it by keeping us connected to the Author of our strength, who sustains the patterns of our lives by grace.

Before this, spiritual practice becomes an act of worship: praying for discernment, listening to the Father's voice who sustains us, and persevering with humility. We recognize that anxiety often tries to take our place, but the trust that God knows what is necessary frees us to obey in the present. Each day we confess: what comes, comes by God's permission; what seems heavy, he gives us strength to bear. May we live with a tranquility centered in Christ, knowing that the path that seems incomplete is, in truth, the path the Father has traced to form us.

Motivation/encouragement: allow the certainty of God's sovereignty to transform your view of suffering into firm confidence; he is with me, he knows what is necessary, and he will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I can bear. Trust, pray, and stand firm, for with each step he sustains the heart that depends on him.
