Beware of Words Against the Servant of God

Numbers 12:1 shows us a painful moment: Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman he had married. In short, we see how criticism, murmuring and perhaps prejudice were directed at the leader God had placed among the people. Moses, as a faithful servant of God, reminds us of the Lord Jesus; both faced human opposition even though their calling came from the Lord.

This passage challenges us regarding the power of our words and the temptation to judge the personal decisions of those God uses. Speaking against a brother or sister because of their marriage, culture, or choice is to sow division and to distrust God's sovereign rule. As followers of Christ, we are called to preserve the unity of the body, to admonish with truth and love, and to avoid gossip that destroys communities.

Christian practice requires humility and self-examination: before speaking, ask yourself whether your words build up, correct in love, or simply satisfy a complaint. Pray for the leaders and for those who are the object of criticism; seek to understand rather than to condemn. If you discover envy, racism, or pride in yourself, confess it and allow the Spirit to transform you, for the Kingdom advances through faithfulness and reconciliation, not through murmuring.

May this scene motivate us to guard our mouths and to intercede for those God has placed in front: whether pastors, church leaders, or brothers and sisters in a difficult situation. Let us walk with humility, defending the grace we have received in Christ and acting as instruments of peace and restoration. Take heart: trust in the grace of Christ to change hearts and to use you today for the unity of God's people.
