Receiving Jesus, being called children of God

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. This verse reminds us that God’s grace is made manifest when, by believing and opening our hearts to Christ, we receive a new condition: we are no longer strangers, but children. Faith is not simply an opinion; it is a surrender that transforms our identity before the Father. As God’s family, we live knowing that our identity does not depend on human achievements, but on Christ’s redemptive work on the cross and his resurrection, which grants us the right to call Him Father. Our practical response is to trust that reception each day, to seek to live as beloved children, obeying with gratitude and advancing in the faith that translates into love and service to others.

Receiving Jesus is the beginning of a living relationship. This right is not a static possession, but a continuous invitation to draw near to God in prayer, to cultivate fellowship with the believing community, and to walk in His will. When we doubt or face trials, we remember that our identity is secured in Christ, and that security strengthens us to face the world with hope. May each day be a reaffirmation that we do not belong to the world by our own dignity, but by the grace that gave us a new family and a new citizenship in the kingdom of God.

Let us fully trust in that love that adopted us as children. If today you find yourself far from that security, return to the source: surrender your heart to Jesus again, declare your faith, and receive His forgiveness. God not only looks at you with approval; He equips you to live in accordance with your heavenly destiny. May the certainty of being a child of God encourage you to live with purpose, to seek the Father’s will, and to extend that love to those around you, knowing that the believer’s path is a life of obedience and renewed hope.
