Believe and Walk in Rest

Francielly S.

Hebrews 3:16-19 reminds us of a people who saw great miracles, left Egypt guided by Moses, yet still chose unbelief and disobedience. They heard God's voice, walked under the cloud, ate the manna, and still did not fully trust the Lord. The result was harsh: their bodies fell in the desert, and they did not enter the promised rest. The problem was not a lack of signs, but a lack of obedient faith. The Word shows that a distrustful heart closes the door to the rest that God wants to give us in Christ.

When you say you want to have faith without letting anxiety work, you are going in the opposite direction of those people in the desert. Having faith is not about ruminating on the problem, trying to control every detail, but resting in God's character. It is praying, as you have been doing, opening your heart to Jesus, and then choosing to trust that He is taking care of what you cannot see. Unbelief only looks at the circumstances; faith looks at who God is. In Christ, the call is not just to believe with the lips, but to learn to walk with a quiet heart, even when the desert is still around.

You have also noticed something precious: a God so great, who sustains the universe, knows your small needs. This is exactly what the gospel reveals: the Son of God became man, walked among us, felt hunger, fatigue, pain, to show that He is not indifferent to our limitations. While unbelief screams that God has forgotten, faith responds: "My Father knows what I need, even before I ask." Vanity and luxuries are fleeting, but the faithful presence of Jesus is permanent. When the heart is drawn to what does not last, the soul is restless; when it is drawn to Christ, it finds a rest that even the desert cannot steal.

Therefore, today, the Holy Spirit invites you to live this simple and profound faith: to believe and that's it, regardless of the circumstances. It is not an irresponsible faith, but a trust that rests on the cross and the resurrection, where Jesus has already guaranteed that nothing can separate you from the love of God. In every prayer, also surrender your anxiety and say: "Lord, I choose to trust in your care, even if I do not see everything." As you walk naturally, doing what is right before God, let Him be responsible for the "more" that you so eagerly await. Keep moving forward remembering: those who believe and obey enter into rest; and, in Christ, that rest has already begun in your heart, today.
