Getting to Know the Lord: Hope in the Early and Latter Rain

Oh, if we knew the Lord, would not our lives then be a constant walk after the divine rain? Let us strive to know Him with an attentive heart, for He will respond to us. Just as dawn comes and the spring rains, His faithfulness is revealed in times of need and expectation. The early rain prepares the land for the seed; the latter rain feeds and secures the harvest. In the same way, our soul awaits in God: in every season, His closeness calls us to trust and obey, knowing that He does not forsake us in the desert nor in abundance. If today you long to know Him more closely, open your spirit to receive His word and His action, for the Lord reveals Himself to those who seek Him sincerely.

The expectation of Israel before the rain — first and latter — teaches us a deep spiritual truth: God provides for every stage of our life. It is not a mere human desire, but a divine grace that prepares the terrain of our inner being to sow and reap. So also in your walk, in the face of uncertainty or abundance, remember that the rain of the Lord is not a coincidence, but a gift that signals His care, His faithfulness, and His plan. Walk, then, in faith: wait on Him, cultivate trust, and remain in His word as fertile ground for His work.

If you have seen how God opens doors, or have felt His closeness amid heartbreak, let this recognition spur you toward a more obedient and faithful life. Let every season — early or latter — refine your dependence, your hope, and your action according to His will. And in the midst of it all, do not take your eyes off Christ, the source of the rain that sustains life. Be encouraged, brother and sister: strengthen your soul to wait on the Lord, for His response comes with the certainty of morning and His grace empowers you to persevere.
