As we contemplate the account of creation, where God sets limits between the waters to separate the firmament, we are reminded that the world is not the fruit of chance, but of the Word made flesh. Jesus is the fulfillment of all revealed wisdom: He is the Word who was with God and, by revealing the Father, shows the majesty of the Creator. When we look to the Lord Jesus, we see the power that creates, sustains, and harmonizes the various parts of creation, including the deep waters of our hearts that so often desire to take control.
The wonder of Jesus is not only in His distant divinity, but in the closeness with the humanity He assumes to reconcile us to the Father. Just as God places a boundary between the waters so that there is order, Jesus overcomes the chaotic waters of sin and despair by offering a new order of grace. In Him we find the reason we can trust: He is the way, the truth, and the life, calling us to a living relationship with the God who created us and who loved us first.
As we fix our gaze on Jesus, we are called to a practical response of faith: to recognize that everything finds its purpose in Him, to obey His Word, and to trust in God's perfect timing. Jesus is wonderful because He reveals incarnate mercy, the wisdom that guides our daily life, and the power that transforms desires into acts of love, humility, and service. May our devotional practice be a continual mission of contemplating Jesus, being formed by Him, and living for the glory of God, finding courage and hope for each day.
