In Genesis 1:22 we see a simple yet profound truth: before the creatures did anything, God blessed them. The fish and birds were not asked to prove themselves, earn their place, or demonstrate usefulness; they were first blessed, then called to be fruitful and multiply.
This shows us something important about the heart of God—He delights to bless what He has made. His blessing is not an afterthought or a reward; it is woven into His original design.
When we read this verse, we are reminded that creation itself began under a spoken word of favor and life from God. Nothing came into being without His intentional, life-giving word resting upon it.
The world is not random or unwanted; it exists under the intentional blessing of its Creator. From the very beginning, God’s posture toward what He has made is one of care, purpose, and generous favor.
