After the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, the Lord spoke to Joshua, son of Nun and Moses' aide. In this moment of transition, the divine calling does not stay in the past but is directed to the new leader with the promise of God's presence: “Be strong and courageous” (Joshua 1:6). In the midst of uncertainty, God reveals that the salvation and deliverance of His people do not depend on a man who has disappeared, but on the ongoing faithfulness of the One who walks with Him. Thus, Joshua's identity is framed as God is Salvation, and that truth sustains the people when facing the unknown.
