Purpose Amid Bad Times

So be careful how you live. Do not live as fools but as those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these days of evil. Do not act without thinking; rather, seek to understand what the Lord wants you to do.

When the apostle Paul exhorts us to live wisely, he invites us to look beyond the immediacy of circumstances. The purpose is not a goal manufactured by us, but the will of God revealed in Scripture and discerned by the Spirit. In the pressure of a hurried world, we can choose faithfulness: study decisions with prayer, seek guidance from the Word, and ask the Lord to transform each moment into a small offering of obedience. Thus, the ‘new’ of these days becomes an opportunity to draw nearer to Christ and His kingdom.

The key is to understand what the Lord wants us to do. It is not simply about doing more things, but doing the right thing at the right time, with the right motive. Every decision, no matter how small, is an act of faith that reveals our purpose before God. This calls us to cultivate a life of wisdom, where prayer, the Word, and community sustain us. When we ask, “What does God want of me now?” we respond with humility and obedience, knowing that His plan is good and perfect.

Motivation for the week: walk today with the certainty that your purpose is not a human project, but a response to God’s will. Seek to understand His will, do what is right before Him, and trust that every step guided by His wisdom brings you closer to the fullness of His kingdom. Courage, trust in the Lord, and move forward boldly in the light of His truth.
