I await your salvation, LORD, and I keep your commandments. This frequency of waiting is not passive, but a call to action in accordance with God’s will. The psalmist does not limit himself to waiting with folded arms; by declaring his waiting, he commits to obeying, to living in faithfulness to the commandments, and to cultivating a relationship of trust in God’s sovereignty. In our daily life, waiting becomes practical obedience: asking for discernment, obeying when the path is difficult, and seeking justice in the midst of uncertainty, knowing that God acts in his perfect timing.
Waiting on God requires my activity: it is not disguised as resignation, but as spiritual diligence. Obedience becomes the visible evidence of a faith that trusts that God is at work, even when we do not see immediate results. In the midst of waiting, we must hold fast to the word, seek God’s presence in prayer, and obey the small opportunities to serve, to love, and to honor him with every decision. That active obedience reveals that we trust not in our strength, but in his promise and in his faithfulness.
And He will do it… This divine promise ties our hope to action: when we obey, we live in harmony with God’s plan, and He works. Christian hope is not a passive desire for external change, but a confidence that translates into constant and faithful obedience. May our waiting become a conscious walk: obey today, trust tomorrow, and see the fulfillment of his salvation in his time. May the impulse of our faith be the practical obedience that glorifies God and strengthens our spirit to keep moving forward.
