As He led Israel across the Jordan, He commanded them to collect twelve stones from the dry riverbed, declaring: *"These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever"* (Joshua 4:7). This act reveals how the Lord values remembering His mighty works. Like Israel, we must intentionally preserve memories of divine interventions in our lives, for they become foundations of faith in times of testing.
The divine attention to timing is remarkable. God wouldn't let them cross the Jordan without leaving a marker. He knew that generation would need to recall the miracle, and future generations would need to hear the testimony: *"When your children ask tomorrow, 'What do these stones mean to you?'"* (Joshua 4:6).
