The Honor and Humility of Moses

Today, we look to Exodus 11:3, which tells us: "And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, Moses himself was highly esteemed in the land of Egypt, by Pharaoh's servants and by the people." This powerful verse reflects the grace and favor Moses possessed, even in the eyes of his oppressors.

Moses was a great leader, and his qualities were recognized by everyone around him. He was seen as a man of great esteem, not only by his own people but also by the Egyptians - even the Pharaoh and his court. This was not due to his charm or worldliness, but because he carried the grace of God.

Moses was fearless, not because of his own strength but because he had full trust in the God of Israel. He had a deep love and empathy for his people and strived to liberate them from their oppressors. Although he was tasked with delivering God's judgments to Pharaoh, Moses didn’t act with arrogance or disdain. Instead, when Pharaoh pleaded for mercies, Moses was quick to intercede on his behalf.

Perhaps most remarkably, Moses represented those who had no voice. He became the advocate for a whole nation of people, speaking truth to power, regardless of the personal risk involved.

As we go about our day, let's strive to embody these qualities of fearlessness, love for others, humility, and advocacy that made Moses a revered leader. May we remember that these virtues are born not of personal might but of reliance on God's grace.

Have a blessed day, filled with God's grace and favor, just as Moses did in the face of adversaries.
