Ensuring a Living Legacy

Today's scripture speaks volumes about the intimate relationship we share with God and the importance of cultivating a rich spiritual heritage. From the book of Deuteronomy 4:7, 9 we read, "For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the LORD our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? But watch out! Be very careful never to forget what you have seen the LORD do for you. Do not let these things escape from your heart as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.

Our God is not distant nor unreachable. He is a personal God, always accessible, patiently waiting to hear from us. He isn’t an impersonal deity in some far-off heaven, rather He is the God who is near, the God who listens when we call.

Moreover, the scripture conveys an urgent message: do not forget the works of God. As we go about our busy lives, it is easy to overlook the miracles we've witnessed, the answered prayers, the deliverance, and the blessings He's showered upon us. We are required to guard our hearts and intentionally remember these works of God.

But the responsibility doesn’t stop with us. We are to ensure these testimonies, these living memories of God’s faithfulness are passed onto our children and grandchildren. It is our God-given duty to ensure that the coming generations know about our personal experiences with God.

So today, let's take some time to reflect on God's goodness in our lives, recollect the miracles He has performed, and share these wonderful experiences with our younger generation. Let's perpetuate a spiritual legacy of faith, hope, and love in God's faithfulness.

And so, may your day be filled with remembrance and gratitude. May peace dwell in your heart, and may your lips always be ready to share your personal stories of God’s goodness.
