Romans 13:1

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Devotional

There is a quiet invitation in this verse: to trust the God who yields the day’s rulers and the night’s seasons. As you sit with this text, invite the Holy Spirit to soften any fear or bitterness about authorities and to cultivate a heart that seeks peace, truth, and the common good. May your obedience be rooted not in blind conformity but in a reverent submission that honors God above all and honors the neighbor beside you, so that your life becomes a witness to the peaceable kingdom already breaking into the world.

In moments when you disagree with policies or leaders, return to prayer and Scripture, asking God for wisdom, courage, and grace. Remember that your ultimate allegiance is to Christ, who calls you to shine as light in a complex world, modeling respectful engagement, principled living, and loving concern for those around you.
